Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of KHULA, a development platform for young footballers, their families, tutors and the wider football community in South Africa. By creating an account you agree to these terms.

1. Eligibility and accounts

  • Athletes must be at least 8 years old. Users under 18 need a parent or guardian to consent and link to their account.
  • Parents, tutors, coaches, referees, scouts, mentors and organisers must be 18 or older.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login details secret and for all activity on your account.
  • You must provide accurate information. We may suspend accounts that impersonate others or provide false information.

2. Acceptable use

  • No harassment, hate speech, sexual content, or contacting minors outside the safeguards KHULA provides.
  • No cheating in quizzes, competitions or leaderboards, and no abuse of referral rewards.
  • No attempts to access other users' data or to disrupt the service.

3. Payments and subscriptions

  • Prices are shown in South African Rand (ZAR) and processed by Paystack. Users under 18 need a guardian's approval before paying.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically each period until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the paid period ends, then return to the free plan.
  • If a renewal fails we retry for 3 days before the plan lapses.
  • Tutor lessons, mentor sessions, hosted games and event entries are paid upfront. KHULA keeps the platform commission shown at checkout and pays the rest to the provider.
  • Refunds for cancellations follow the policy shown at booking. If a provider or organiser cancels, you get a full refund.
  • Scout search passes and opportunity listings are non-refundable once used.
  • Donations are collected by KHULA and paid to the named beneficiary. They are not refundable unless the campaign is cancelled.

3A. Professionals, organisers and sponsors

  • Tutors, coaches, referees, scouts, mentors and organisation admins must pass KHULA verification before their role is active, and must keep their documents current.
  • Professionals may only contact minors through KHULA, after guardian approval, and must never ask for personal contact details.
  • Scouts may only view athletes who have opted in, and need the athlete's or guardian's approval to see detailed data. Scout searches are logged and visible to the athlete.
  • Organisers are responsible for the safety, insurance and accuracy of events they run. Sponsors must deliver the prizes and scholarships they advertise.
  • KHULA may suspend a role or account, withhold payouts under investigation, or report conduct to authorities where a child's safety is at risk.

3B. Leaderboards and competitions

  • Leaderboards, streaks and competitions follow the published rules. Suspicious results are held until reviewed, and confirmed cheating removes the points and may lead to suspension.
  • Prizes for minors are delivered through their guardian. KHULA's decision on winners is final.
  • The weekly quiz is a skill contest. Everyone gets the same quiz and one attempt. The highest score in the month and the year wins. A faster time breaks a tie, then whoever submitted first. No purchase is required to compete or to win. It is not a lottery, not a lucky draw, and not affiliated with betting. Plus and Pro see the correct answers after they submit. The prize is KHULA recognition, or a non-cash reward written in advance. Under 18, the prize is a badge unless a guardian agrees to a physical reward.

4. Health and safety

Training, nutrition and wellbeing content is general guidance and not medical advice. Consult a qualified professional for injuries, medical conditions or mental health concerns. In an emergency call 10111 or 112.

5. Content

You keep ownership of content you upload, and give KHULA a licence to display it within the platform as you choose. We may remove content that breaks these terms.

6. Liability

KHULA is provided "as is". To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect losses arising from use of the platform, or for arrangements made between users such as tutoring, trials or events.

7. Changes

We may update these terms. We will notify you of material changes in the app before they take effect.
